How to Vent a Shipping Container Like a Pro

Installing shipping container vent kits doesn’t require a master welder.  Our kits feature a “cut and bolt” design:

Placement: Install two vents, one high and one low on container walls to induce natural occurring temperature differential drafts to eliminate hot air and unwanted vapor fouled air to escape.

Cross-Ventilation: Always install vents on opposite sides or ends  top and bottom to create a natural cool to warm draft exhaust. This reverses direction in the cooler seasons

Sealing: Use our included gaskets to ensure your unit remains watertight.

Stop Moisture & Heat: DYI Pro-Grade Shipping Container Vent Kits

vent, the Whether you’re building a backyard workshop, additional storage or managing an industrial site and needing more storage; knowing how to vent a shipping container is the difference between a dry space and a rust-prone “humid hot box.” Proper airflow is essential for preventing condensation, mold, excessive heat and chemical vapor buildup.

Venting Solutions for Every Project

We make the process simple. If you are wondering, “How can I create a vent for a shipping container?”, we provide the vent, hardware and the roadmap to do it right.

Why Quality Ventilation Matters

Standard steel shipping container available to purchase aren’t designed to breathe.   Those small vents you see near the top of each container are there to equalize pressure not to vent air adequately. Sea going Shipping Containers need to be watertight while in transit and to be able to equalize atmospheric pressure while transiting through multiple barometric pressure changes while in route.  Without the right “air” vents for a shipping container, slow temperature swings from wet and humid days to sunny hot days will lead to “container rain.” Our heavy-duty shipping container air vents are engineered to:

  • Eliminate Condensation: Keep your valuables dry and rust-free by allowing adequate air flow.

  • Allow for plentiful air movement, in this case size does matter to ensure proper air intake and exhaust.
  • Regulate Temperature:  Our vents will allow for the exhaust of trapped heat during summer months. Arizona and the Southwest desert summer days will create inside temperatures over 140 degrees withing a shipping container.

  • Improve Safety: Safely vent fumes from stored fuels or paints.

  • Filter the Transiting Air:Our Vents have removable and washable filters that allow you to keep your container dust free as possible.
